Gmail is a free email service developed by Google with a vast number of users worldwide. However, you may experience issues from time to time. “Google account not found” is one of these issues. Now, you will see some methods on how to solve this annoying problem. But first:
What is a Google Account?
A Google Account allows you to access many services offered by Google with an email address and a password (or passkey). This account offers a personalized experience across all Google products, allowing you to protect your data and manage your settings.
When you sign in, you can benefit from autofill, personalized recommendations, quick access to your information, and many other useful features.
Here is what you can do with your Google account:
- Edit your personal information,
- Manage your privacy and security settings,
- Safely store important data such as credit cards, passwords, and contacts.
In short, with a Google Account, you can use Google services more efficiently and securely.
What is the “Google Account Not Found” Issue?
The “Google account not found” issue is an error message you might see when you try to sign in to a Google service like Gmail or Google Drive, but the system cannot find an account with the email address or username you provided. This message can appear for several reasons, including:
- Your account does not exist: You may receive this error if you typed your email address or username incorrectly, or if you never created a Google account with this information.
- Your account was deleted: If you previously had a Google account but later deleted it, you cannot sign in using that account.
- Your account was suspended or disabled: If Google has suspended or disabled your account due to a violation of the Terms of Service, you cannot sign in using that account.
How to Fix the “Google Account Not Found” Issue?
Check the Recipient’s Email Address
To solve the “Google address not found” issue, it would be good to check the recipient’s email address. You should thoroughly check the recipient’s email address for missing characters or numbers. We recommend copying and pasting the recipient’s email address directly to send emails.
Check if the Email Address is Deleted
When you try to send a message to a deleted or no longer available account, you may receive an “address not found” error. Therefore, one of the first things you should do is check if the email address has been deleted. You should follow these steps for this:
- Open an incognito window in Google Chrome. To do this, press Ctrl + Shift + N together.
- Now go to Gmail.com and enter the email address you are checking to see if it is deleted. Click Next to continue.
- If you are redirected to the password section, it means the recipient’s email is still active.
Check the Email Service
There might be an issue with the email service causing you to receive the ‘account not found‘ error. To confirm this, you should follow these steps:
- Contact the recipient to have them check their email address.
- Gmail has a scheduling feature; you can try this. Scheduling allows you to automatically send your email at a date and time you specify.
- Now log in to your own Gmail account.
- Select Compose to write a draft.
- Enter the recipient address, double-checking it.
- Select the up arrow icon located next to the Send button.
- Select Schedule send and then click Pick date & time.
- After planning everything, schedule your email.
Check Gmail’s Server
Although it is a very rare problem, you should check the possibility of Gmail servers being down. Therefore, as a last resort, I recommend checking the status of your Gmail server. If you notice any server issues, waiting a few minutes should be enough. Google will likely fix the issue within this time.
