Valorant is Riot’s first step into the FPS genre for the gaming world.
Since the day it was announced, Valorant has been a source of great excitement for many players and has received great interest from numerous gamers, including popular FPS players and Twitch streamers.
In addition to being a fun and new game, Valorant benefits from an influx of players coming from games like CS:GO and Overwatch.
Now, as with every competitive game, especially in the FPS genre, one of the key components of success is fairness. Riot is known as a company that takes this seriously (just as they did for League of Legends). Therefore, violating the rules can result in an account ban.
For this reason, let’s take a look at the reasons for bans and how you can remove a ban on a Valorant account.
Can a Valorant Ban Be Removed?
The following things are prohibited, as is valid in other FPS and Battle Royale games. Including games like PUBG, Apex Legends, or Fortnite, here are some of the most common reasons someone might get banned in Valorant:
- Cheating – reasons, software, methods, and similar things.
- Gaining an unfair advantage over other players through in-game bugs, glitches, and other unintended game features.
- Toxicity and any kind of behavior involving disturbing, harassing, or insulting other players.
- Sharing your account.
- Buying or selling accounts.
As for whether you can recover a Valorant account, this depends on the reason for your ban.
For example, a player banned for extreme toxicity or racism has almost no chance of reopening their account in Valorant. Riot takes hate speech very seriously, so there isn’t much you can argue.
On the other hand, if you were penalized for mild toxicity (heavy criticism, arguing, disruptive behavior), your chances of lifting the Valorant account ban are much higher.
The same applies to cheats, especially in cases where the ban came as a false positive result.
For actions related to account sharing, you will need to be able to prove your ownership as part of the Valorant ban appeal process.
Now that we have examined the reasons for an account ban, let’s also see the process through which a player can file an appeal to unban themselves from Valorant.
Valorant Unban Steps
The process of applying to remove your Valorant ban is quite simple and takes place entirely on Riot’s official website.
When you visit this page, you need to click on the “Support” link in the top left corner of the page. This part will take you to the Support center there.
Here, you need to scroll down towards the bottom of the page and click on the red “Submit a ticket” option.
You will then be asked to log in to your Riot account, and then you will be directed to the actual Valorant unban application form.
- Under Request type, select “Discuss Personal Suspension or Restriction”.
- Under “Subject”, you can write something like “Valorant ban appeal”.
- Under “Inquiry”, select “Discuss Game Bans”.
- Select the correct duration of the ban according to your ban type. For permanent bans, select “31+ Days”.
Selecting Reason
Depending on the type of your Valorant ban, under “Do you know why your account was suspended?”, you can select one of the following:
- For toxicity bans: “Inappropriate Chat Communication / In-Game Behavior”;
- For cheating allegations: “Third Party Programs”;
- If the account was banned as a result of a compromise: “Hacked / Compromised account”;
- If you don’t know why you were banned from Valorant: “I have no idea”.
Add relevant files if available (optional).
Remember that if your ban came as a result of your account being compromised, there will be extra fields where you need to verify your account ownership as part of the Valorant unban application. Therefore, you should make sure to have this information ready.
Once all this is completed, all you have to do is click on the red “Submit” button at the bottom of the Valorant unban application form.
Don’t forget to check your email for a response; this email address will be the same one you used to sign up for the Riot account.
That was all you needed to do.
